A standing frame is assistive technology that can be used by an adult or child who generally relies on a wheelchair for mobility. It provides alternative positioning to sitting in a wheelchair by supporting the person in the standing position. Standing frames fall broadly into three categories - supine, prone and upright, although several products can offer multiple positioning. A standing wheelchair also serves the same purpose as a standing frame.
