Additional Info
More Details
Materials
* Three layers of polyurethane foam which contains a gel bladder. The gel is hidden within the foam and is not able to be viewed or removed.
Cover
* Synthetic nylon cover which is removable and machine washable to 30 degrees only.
Application
* The supplier states the cushion is suitable for users at a low risk of developing pressure ulcers. It is designed to equalise and evenly distribute the weight of the user.
Considerations
All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam) a different product may need to be considered.
The foam cushion is not to be washed.
Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front.
It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.
