Medifab Spex Standard Contour Cushion

A lightweight, contoured combination foam and gel cushion. Features a range of modular postural support components which can be added to the base layer of foam. Available in a range of sizes. Some customisation may be available.

Structure
* The cushion consists of multiple densities of foam with a gel insert in the ischial region
* The upper layers of foam are contoured and designed to assist with weight distribution.
* The height of the cushion can be increased with a custom modification.

Cover
* The cushion consists of an outer breathable and washable cover and a two way stretch continence cover
* The inner incontinence cover is made of two-way stretch material
* The outer cover is also two-way stretch and is vapour permeable to assist with regulation of body temperature

Application
The range of adjustable features are designed to suit users with various positioning needs with both symmetrical and asymmetrical sitting postures, including limited hip flexion and pelvic obliquity.

Postural support components
The following postural support components can be added to the base
* an adjustable, movable pommel that can accommodate windswept postures;
* a removable thigh wedge for reduced hip flexion;
* a removable, adjustable pre-ischial shelf that can be positioned for pelvic rotation;
* removable trochanter shelves that can be configured for pelvic obliquity.

TGA
Many of the items on the Assistive Technology Australia website are categorised as a Medical Device. Medical devices that are approved for use in Australia have been entered into a national database called the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), which is maintained by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
