2M Independence Platform Lift

2M Independence Platform Lift

An electrically operated lift with a maximum travel of 2 metres and two stops. It features a screw and nut driven lifting platform and has an open design covered by toughened and laminated glazed panels. It does not require a pit and comes with an internal ramp. The lift is suitable for indoor and mainly outdoor applications. The load capacity is 500 kg.

Considerations

In NSW the owner or controller of the lift (if not the owner) is required to register their lift with WorkCover. They need to complete the WorkCover form PIR (Plant Item Registration)January 2011 Application for the registration of an item of plant

A fee is charged for a lift installed in a public place. There is no charge for a lift installed in a private home. The applicant must state that the plant has been inspected by a competent person and is safe to operate (use).

It is compulsory that the lift in a public place be inspected annually by a competent person. WorkCover requires payment for registration as well as an annual fee.

Installation

The 2M platform lift does not require any pit as it comes complete with an internal ramp. The lift bolts directly against the vertical wall and is supported by the slab.

TGA

Medical devices that are approved for use in Australia have been entered into a national database called the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), which is maintained by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). When buying a medical device it is advisable to only choose a medical device that is recommended by a healthcare professional and has been included on the ARTG.
