Alternating Overlay

Zenith Platinum Air PM265 Alternating Overlay System

An alternating air pressure overlay that fits over an existing mattress. It has seventeen air cells that alternate on a 9.6 minute cycle. Static pillow area and pin hole ventilation. Comes with a two way stretch anti microbial cover. A pump unit is supplied with the overlay and features static mode and sitting mode buttons. Manual weight adjustment to suit the user's weight. Single size overlay.

Platinum Air PM265 Overlay
* Seventeen cells of 130mm (5 inch) height
* Top three rows of cells are static
* Pin hole ventilation
* CPR facility at the head end of the overlay
* Elastic attachment to connect the overlay to the mattress
* Two year warranty
* Anti kink air hose connected to the pump unit

* Cover is two way stretch, water resistant and anti microbial
* Zipper cover
* Warm soapy water to clean
* 40kg minimum weight

Platinum Air PM265 Pump Unit
* The pump unit can only be used with the mattress recommended by the manufacturer
* The power switch is located at the side of the pump
* Power failure alarm. The panel will indicate whether this is caused by loss of pressure, power failure or mechanical fault
* Press the alarm mute button to suspend the low pressure alarm. Should the problem not be resolved within 5 minutes, the alarm will resume
* Inflate mode is the default mode when the power is turned on. When the maximum pressure level is reached, the pump will switch to Alternating
* Alternate mode. The normal operating mode of the system. Alternates every ten minutes
* Static mode. Stops the mattress alternating. Reverts back to alternating after 20 minutes
* Sitting mode. Additional seat pressure activated during backrest elevation to prevent bottoming out. May be activated in combination with the static mode or alone
* Lock feature. Should the panel remain untouched for 5 minutes, the panel lock will prevent accidental changing of the setting during normal operation. To unlock, press and hold the Panel lock for 3 seconds

Method Of Use

1. Connect the pump to the overlay.
2. Turn on the pump.
3. The mattress will take 20 minutes to fully inflate.
4. When the pump is started it begins the inflation mode and then changes to Alternate.
5. Once Alternate is illuminated the attendant sets the pressure to the appropriate weight of the user and makes adjustments for user comfort and clearance.
6. Once fully inflated and the user is laying on the mattress it is essential to test for clearance of at least 50mm between the user's sacrum and the base of the overlay.
7. Press the Therapy button to choose mode.

Considerations

* Static mode may be used while someone goes to sleep if they are finding it hard to fall asleep with the alternating mode
* The static mode allows attendants to perform therapy on a stable level surface
* Once fully inflated and the user is laying on the mattress it is essential to test for clearance of at least 50mm between the user's sacrum and the base of the overlay
* The supplier recommends that a mattress of at least 150mm is placed below the overlay to prevent bottoming out
