Types of scooters that may be available for hire:
* Three and four wheelers scooters
* Dismantling or foldable scooters
Considerations
* Seek the advice of an occupational therapist to determine if the use of a scooter is suitable and safe for the potential user.
* If a scooter is hired, consider the space required for over night storage and availability of a power point for battery recharging.
* Check with suppliers for after sale of service in case of scooter failure.
* In NSW, motorised wheelchairs that weigh greater than 110 kg and travel at more than 10 km/h have to be registered.
Consider contacting a therapist at the Independent Living Centre for further advice.
