The level of inflation is adjusted according to the users weight, weight distribution and comfort needs.

Method Of Use

1. Turn the cushion valve anti clockwise to open
2. Place the hand pump hose over the valve and inflate until the cushion arches slightly
3. Turn the valve clockwise to close and remove the pump.
4. With the cushion in this over inflated condition, place the individual on the cushion in his / her normal sitting condition with arm and foot rests properly placed.
5. Place your hand between the cushion and the individual's deepest penetrating prominence.
6. With your hand or gauge in place slowly turn the valve anti clockwise to release some air to immerse the individual in the cushion. When the gauge sound is emitted, or when you can barely move your fingertips (approximately 1.25cm) between the individual's deepest boney prominence and the cushion base, pinch the valve stem and turn the valve clockwise to close.

Considerations

All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered."

The cushion can be punctured. Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front. Ensure the item is correctly inflated at all times.
