Application
This backrest is suitable for users
* Requiring greater comfort and more precise stability
* In need of corrective positioning
* Who require a flexible and adjustable backrest
* Who sit asymmetrically in their wheelchair
The backrest can be fitted to most manual and power wheelchairs including children's, with seat widths from 260mm to 500mm.

Materials
Plastic and foam. The foam is configured in such a way that pieces may be removed to accommodate bony prominences.

Adjustments
Five Adjustment Zones:
Zone 1. The Central Zone
This extends from the bottom to the top and controls the vertical profile of the backrest. An internal strap system allows adjustment to provide the most suitable lumbar profile.
Zones 2 - 5 Adjustable wings at pelvic and thoracic levels.
* The zones are adjusted by altering bolts using a tool as supplied. This enables contouring to be adjusted, asymmetrical postures to be accommodated, and lateral support increased at both the pelvic and thoracic level. It can also be used to reduce the width of the backrest.

Mounting Hardware Adjustments
* Pivot points on the mounting hardware allow backrest tilt and lateral angle to be adjusted.
* The mount also allows for the backrest to be positioned in front or behind the vertical struts with a wide range of anterior / posterior positions, thus varying the seat depth.

Cover
* The cover is a conforming black synthetic stretch fabric which is removable for washing and replacement.

Option Details
Head Supports
4 styles of varying contours including a bean bag head rest for use during transportation. Adjustable in all planes of movement. Head rest adaptor for use with other brand head rests (eg Otto Bock)

Thoracic / lateral Supports
2 sizes, 7 ways to adjust width and height. Quick release. Tailored covers for pads and mechanism.

Restraint attachments
To backrest or onto a secondary arm

Backrest Stabiliser
For bariatric clients or with extensor tone

* Recycling Kit:additional fittings when the backrest is to be reused for another client.

Considerations

Because of their potential to exacerbate deformity, postural support products need regular monitoring to ensure that their positioning and use remains appropriate to the users needs and body shape.
