Con-Serv Range Of Toilet Assist Grab Rails

A range of wall, or wall and floor mounted, grab rails designed to be used next to toilets. Constructed from 32mm stainless steel with a range of finishes. The rails are available in a range of configurations and dimensions to suit a variety of applications. Two models available, including a model with hygienic seal end covers.

The rails are available in a variety of configurations including 40 and 90 degree angled sloping arms, rear wall, end wall and floor fixings, plus rails that cross the rear wall accommodating exposed cisterns. Available in a range of finishes, suiting wet and dry applications. Marine grade 316 stainless steel is available for weather exposed / coastal areas. Standard product is grade 304 stainless steel.

Available in a range of configurations. Central fixings (where used) utilise an underslung bracket. The rails have three fixing holes on circular flanges. The flanges are concealed. Screws are purchased separately, according to the wall into which they are being fixed.

Finishes
Available in satin stainless steel (SS), polished stainless steel (PS), knurled grip (KG) [a machined, textured surface which is slip resistant] and a range of powder coated colours (AC) [white, ivory, black, burgundy, and hawthorn green].

Considerations

It is important to ensure that fixed rails are selected to suit the type of wall. There may be specific differences between rails intended for installation on masonry walls and those intended for installation on wooden stud walls.

Models

Standard 32mm concealed 'clam' flange toilet assist grab rails.

The following models are rails that are mounted on the side wall only or the side and rear wall, accommodating exposed or concealed cisterns. All rails have a horizontal component on the side or side and rear walls with an arm adjacent to the front of the toilet that is angled at either 90 or 45 degrees. All of these rails are available in left or right hand versions, which need to be specified at the time of ordering:
057 - 500mm x 700mm: 500mm horizontal with a 700mm, 40 degree angle sloping arm. The rail is mounted to the side wall.
077 - 700mm x 700mm: 700mm horizontal, with a 700mm, 40 degree angle sloping arm. The rail is mounted to the side wall. An underslung bracket is positioned 100mm back from the angled point along the horizontal component.
847 - 840mm x 700mm: 840mm horizontal, with a 700mm, 40 degree angle sloping arm. The rail is mounted to the side wall. An underslung bracket is positioned 100mm back from the angled point along the horizontal component.
907 - 900mm x 700mm: 900mm horizontal, with a 700mm, 40 degree angle sloping arm. The sloping arm is mounted on the side wall, the horizontal flange connects to the rear wall. An underslung bracket is positioned 100mm back from the angled point along the horizontal component.
454 - 450mm x 450mm: 450mm horizontal with 450mm, 90 degree angled arm. The rail is mounted to the side wall.
116 - 1010mm x 1000mm x 600mm: Rail for concealed cisterns. 1010mm horizontal along rear wall, with rear wall fixing, angles around corner, 1000mm horizontal with side wall underslung bracket and 600mm 90 degree arm with side wall fixing.
916 - 900mm x 1000mm x 600mm: Rail for exposed cisterns - rear wall clearance of 250mm. 900mm horizontal rail along the rear wall which provides a clearance of 250mm. The rail angles around the corner, to 1000mm horizontal with side wall underslung bracket and 600mm 90 degree arm with side wall fixing.
197 - 1010mm x 900mm x 700mm: Rail for concealed cisterns. 1010mm horizontal along rear wall, with rear wall fixing, angles around corner, 900mm horizontal with side wall underslung bracket and 700mm 40 degree sloping arm with side wall fixing.
997 - 900mm x 900mm x 700mm: Rail for exposed cisterns - rear wall clearance of 250mm. 900mm horizontal rail along the rear wall which provides a clearance of 250mm. The rail angles around the corner, to 900mm horizontal with side wall underslung bracket and 700mm 40 degree sloping arm with side wall fixing.
946 - 940mm x 600mm: 940mm horizontal and 600mm, 90 degree arm. The rail is mounted to the side wall, the vertical component has an underslung bracket.
106 - 1000mm x 600mm: 1000mm horizontal rail, with flange fixed to rear wall, with 600mm, 90 degree arm. Vertical arm is fixed to the side wall.

The following rails are rear wall and floor mounted, designed to be positioned on either the left or right side of the toilet:
927 - 900mm x 150mm x 785mm: 900mm horizontal, rear wall mounted with a 785mm, 90 degree angled floor fixed leg. Features a rotating support leg which is fixed to the floor on the outside aspect of the main leg of the rail. It provides additional support to the rail. The support leg rotates allowing the installer to mount it to the left or right side of the toilet. The support leg is 200mm high with a 150mm clearance of the main leg.
097 - 900mm x 785mm: 900mm horizontal, rear wall mounted with a 785mm, 90 degree angled floor mounted leg.

The following rail is corner mounted with fixing on the side and rear walls, and can be positioned to the left or right of the toilet:
660 - 600mm x 600mm: 600mm x 600mm horizontal, corner grab rail.

The following rails are corner mounted, with fixing on the side and rear walls. These rails are available in left or right hand versions, which need to be specified at the time of ordering:
880 - 800mm x 800mm: 800mm x 800mm horizontal, corner grab rail.
761 - 760mm x 1000mm: 760mm x 1000mm horizontal, corner grab rail.

The following rail features a double arm on either side of the toilet with a connecting rail across the rear, accommodating either a concealed or exposed cistern. Attaches fully to the rear wall.
478 FF - 700mm Firmfix Grab Rail: 700mm length upper arm with the lower arm tapering back to the rear wall 450mm lower than the upper arm. Rear connecting rail is 800mm in width. Wall clearance is adjustable. Overall height is 800mm.

Premium 32mm Healthcare toilet assist grab rails with hygienic seal end covers
Rails with a stylised 50mm solid brass screw on hygienic seal, which gives extra protection against the formation of bacteria under the point of rail fixing to the wall. This comprises an O ring which sits behind the flange, preventing water entering behind the flange. The hygienic seal end covers comprise the following - a solid brass dual fixing wall mount plate, threaded lock nut and 50mm screw on hygienic seal end cover. Two wall fixing points per seal.
Available in satin stainless steel (SS), polished stainless steel (PS), knurled grip (KG) [a machined, textured surface which is slip resistant] a range of powder coated colours (FC) [white, ivory, black, burgundy, and hawthorn green], colour with a gold dress ring (AG), and chrome with a gold dress ring (CG).
Premium rails with the hygienic seal are available in a selected number of the above models. Models that are available in the Premium range are as follows: 057, 077, 847, 907, 946, 106, 454. The code HS is listed at the end of the model number to indicate it has a hygienic seal.

Installation

Manufacturer recommends the grab rails should be installed by a qualified tradesperson

Method of Attachment
Using fixing screws, attach flanges to studs, masonry walls or timber
members.

* When installing rails, it is important to ensure that the fixtures are designed to withstand the forces applied to them, and that the screws or bolts used will not rust or otherwise deteriorate.
* Rail installation in public buildings must comply with the relevant Australian Standards and Building Code of Australia.
