More Details

The base of the cushion comprises an anatomically shaped fast recovery foam to help maintain good posture and support. This is covered with a layer of slow recovery foam which together with the top layer of gel provides pressure relief and weight distribution.
The top layer consists of a pad of FloGel at the rear with TruGel at the front under the thighs.
The waterproof cover features a slip resistant base fabric and is suitable for incontinent users. It is labelled to promote correct positioning and use of the cushion.

Method Of Use

Place the cushion to the back of the wheelchair with the material identification tags and FloGel pad towards the rear. The hips should be to the back of the chair with the ischial tuberosities centred on the FloGel pad. Adjust the footrests so that the legs rest firmly but comfortably on the cushion.
The cushion should be stored flat.

Considerations

All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
The gel cells on the top layer of the cushion can be punctured
Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front
