Short Description
Two models of a battery operated stairlift for straight or curved stairs. They operate on a rail fixed to the stairs. For indoor use only. If these lifts are to be used in a public building they must comply with the relevant Australian Standard. Contact the supplier for details.

Seat:
* Swivel seat turns through 90 degrees to face landing when getting
on/off. Hold down lever on either side of seat to operate swivel. Optional powered swivel is operated by maintaining light pressure on the control buttons.
* Seat, armrests and footrest are folding
Controls:
* Controls require constant finger pressure.
* Call buttons are also located on the wall at top and bottom of staircase.
* A security key switch is fitted in the armrest.
Batteries:
* Automatically recharged from charging points located at the top and bottom of the rail.
Safety:
* Safety sensors which stop the stairlift if an obstacle is detected.
* Speed governor
* "Cushioned" start / stop

Lift registration
In NSW the owner or controller of the lift (if not the owner) is required to register their lift with WorkCover. They need to complete the WorkCover form PIR (Plant Item Registration)January 2011 Application for the registration of an item of plant
A fee of $65 is charged for a lift installed in a public place. There is no charge for a lift installed in a private home. The applicant must state that the plant has been inspected by a competent person and is safe to operate (use).
It is compulsory that the lift in a public place be inspected annually by a competent person. WorkCover requires payment for registration as well as an annual fee.

Models
Stannah Curved - Mounts either side of a curved staircase to overcome problems of sharp twists, and turns, landings, corridors, doors or several flights of stairs.
* Armrests are sturdy, flat (unpadded).
* Directional Controls: Mounted on either arm. The low pressure buttons or optional joystick switch will operate the stairlift in the required direction of travel.
* Rail: The stairlift travels along a floor mounted rail which is customised to suit the staircase.
Stannah Straight - For straight stairs of any length.
* Armrests have soft padding
* Controls: directional controls are housed in one armrest and the on / off rocker switch is in the other. Directional control can be either a low pressure joystick or a rocker switch.
* Rail: The stairlift travels along a strong aluminium rail fitted to the stair treads not the wall.
* Adjustable seat height: This can be adjusted at the time of installation.
