Walk Belt

Pelican Handi Lift Walk Belt

A rectangular belt made from a strong lightweight nylon material with an optional slip resistant lining and four padded webbing handles to enable two carers, each using both hands, to assist with lifting and / or walking. The belt has a double hook and loop tape fastening for holding the belt firmly in place. Available in five sizes.

. NATA weight tested to 200kg.
. The belt may be used to assist a person who has fallen to achieve a
crawling position and to assist them when they stand up holding a chair.
. Particularly useful when assisting a person, getting into a large lounge
chair or tub chair.
. Can be used by a single carer lifting from in front of the wearer.
. Optional slip resistant lining is Miracle Grip
NOTE: For ladies with very large breasts, it may be better to use the Pelican "Soft Transfer Belt" Item 527 as this has a narrow belt and buckle and may be easier to fit around the waist.

Method Of Use

To use:
Fit the Belt around the chest and fasten the double hook and loop as
tightly as the wearer can stand. It should be fastened under the breast on a female or around the waist or under the arms on a male.
. When lifting check the wearers feet are correctly positioned. Hold the
lifting handles, tell the wearer to lean forward and then lift them up
. Another lifting method is for two carers to use one hand each on the belt and the other hand under the wearers buttocks to help lift the hips.
. When walking, the carer(s) hold the handles to provide support.
. When fitted and used correctly, the Handi-Lift / Walk Belt should not ride up.
