Repose Mattress Overlay

The Repose Mattress Overlay has been designed for use on a standard single bed to help provide pressure redistribution. The supplier states that it is suitable for patients at very high risk of pressure areas. Suitable for use in all Healthcare settings. A pump is included with the mattress to enable air inflation and allows it to be inflated to the correct pressure. A double sized overlay is available. Two year warranty.

* Load capacity is 222kgs when used on a Macmed Pressure Care mattress 222kg. When used on any other surface 139 kg load capacity (for both single and double).

Structure
* Low Air technology helps to distribute weight and pressure evenly and doesn't lose its shape
* Designed to relieve pressure on soft tissue areas and provide comfort
* Lightweight for easier transport

Cover
* Easy to clean and will deflate down to a compact size

Considerations

All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.

It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.

Indications for Use
Repose products provide effective pressure redistribution for all people at risk of developing pressure ulcers, including those assessed as very high risk. Repose is also appropriate for users with pressure related tissue damage - clinical supervision is advised where the damage is severe.

Repose is not suitable for the following:
* Persons weighing in excess of 222kg*
* Persons with unstable spinal fractures
* Where body shape is such that the person cannot be fully supported by the
* Repose mattress overlay or cushion
* Repose is suitable for use with bed and trolley side rails subject to the bed or trolley manufacturer's instructions and appropriate risk assessment
