Strongback24

Range of Strongback Wheelchairs

A range of light-weight, folding manual wheelchairs with ergonomic curved backrest that supports the natural curve of the spine. The seat angle aligns the pelvis for improved posture and helps prevent slouching forward and sliding out of the seat, reducing the shear on sensitive buttocks and backs.

More Details

The Strongback wheelchairs feature:
* Easily adjustable posture support in the backrest
* Compact foldable design
* Lightweight
* Swing-away detachable footrests
* Ergonomic comfort-grip handles
* Desktop length armrests
* Available in seat width: 40 and 45 cm
* Max user weight: 136 kg

Considerations

Wheelchair Restraints
When transporting a person in a wheelchair in a car or van, both the occupant and the wheelchair require a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) approved restraint system. The wheelchair and the occupant need to be separately secured to the vehicle itself.
RMS approval is not required for a postural support, such as a harness that supports the user in the wheelchair but is not part of the vehicle restraint system.
The use of a headrest is not legally required but strongly recommended. Easily detachable, folding headrests which fit a wheelchair with standard push handles are available. Contact the supplier or refer to section Wheelchairs, Scooters, Cushions, and Ramps / Postural Supports - Seating Systems: Restraint, Head, Back, Seats
