Additional Info
More Details
* Can support a client with symmetrical and mild asymmetrical posture and moderate postural support requirements
* Can provide moderate lateral stability as well as moderate forward/rearward stability
*Independent weight shift
Structure and Materials
* JAY Flow fluid insert which moulds to each individual's shape, adjusts to sitting positions, and can aid in fluid placement under bony areas
* Comes in either a curved or a flat base
* Rear of the cushion features a sacral notch
Cover
* Incontinence or microclimatic cover
Application
* Suitable for individuals at a moderate risk of skin breakdown and shear
Considerations
* All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level), a different product may need to be considered.
* The gel cells on the top layer of the cushion can be punctured
* Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front.
* It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.
* Foam must be regularly replaced as it loses its spring and becomes hard after long term use
