Optimum Air 9 System

Optimum Air 9 Digital Alternating Support System

A digitally controlled, electric air alternating mattress replacement system with a 1 in 3 alternation cycle time of twelve minutes. The system consists of a mattress and a pump. It comes with a vapour permeable, water resistant, and two way stretch top cover. It is suitable for users at high to very high risk of developing pressure areas. Available in one standard size.

* Cell in cell design which contributes to user safety by increasing the clearance between inflating
* Independent heel zone for vulnerable heel and lower leg area
* Static head cells to add to stability
* 19 cell in cell (including 3 static head cells and 5 narrow heel cells)
* Cell material 0.15mm TPU film laminated on 210 denier nylon fabric
* Base material Nylon fabric 420 denier with a 0.1mm TPU coating

* Material: PU coated polyester
* Vapour permeable, waterproof top cover with multi stretch fabric to help minimise friction and reduce shear
* Welded seams and full length waterfall skirt to aid in infection control

* Hinged base to conform to bed movement
* Hose Connection: Press on dual connector hoses

* Adjustable digital control unit with eight comfort pressure settings

Considerations

* All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.

* It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.
