Frame
* The frame is lightweight, powder coated and can be either folding or rigid.
* It has flip up anti tip bars with rollers and tip levers at the rear of the chair.
* The NTX features the 'Future Fit' program which provides the parts necessary to grow the width of the chair once during the life of the frame.
* The chair can accommodate a range of different seating systems.

LEAF: Lower Extremity Accommodation Frame
* This feature is available on newer Freedom NXT wheelchairs
* LEAF is designed so that the front frame angle can adjust to accommodate abduction, adduction and windswept leg positioning.
* LEAF is available in a left side, right side or pair with 75 or 90 pop-up or swing away footrest hangers

Tilt Mechanism
There are three tilt mechanisms available:
* single pedal foot activated - the pedal is installed inside right rear side frame
* single lever hand activated - lever installed on and behind right back post tube
* dual lever hand activated - levers installed on and behind both back post tubes

Seat
* The NXT is available in 11 seat widths from 250mm to 510mm.
* 250mm to 400mm size chairs can also be adjusted by an additional 50mm, and the 430mm seats can be adjusted by an additional 25mm.

* The NXT is available in three seat depths: small (300 to 450mm), medium (355 to 455mm) and large (405 to 505mm).
* 50mm, 75mm 100mm extensions can be added to the back of the seat frame.

* There are four different seat pan options available.
* The seat can be configured to a variety of seat to floor heights.

Note: The seating system must be purchased separately as no seating system is provided.

Backrest
* The backrest can fold down, and the angle can be adjusted from 80 to 120 degrees.
* Traditional and Ergo bend push handles are available in three height options - short, medium and tall. There is three width adjustments and a removable extension available, options are also available including: push handle, stroller handle, or individual stroller handle.

Headrest
* Two styles of headrests are available; Chubbie head support, or Low Profile Occipital headrest pad, and each style comes in 3 sizes; small, medium and large.

Armrests
* The armrests are padded, tubular style and can be attached to the back post or the seat frame.
* They are available in desk or full length, and can be locking, telescoping, adjustable in height or removable.

Legrest
* The wheelchair can be provided without legrest hangers and footplates, or with pop up swing away, latch style swing away, or pop up swing away elevating hangers.
* Legrest extensions are also available.

Footplates
A range of different footplates are available:
* composite flip up
* aluminium angle adjustable flip up
* aluminium angle adjustable removable footboard

Wheels
* The rear wheels of both models are pneumatic and available in mag or spoke styles in a range of sizes.
* They can be removed using the quick release mechanism. Airless inserts are also available.
* The handrims are either aluminium or plastic coated.

Castors
* A range of castor diameters, widths and styles are available. Different style options including polyurethane, polyurethane aluminium mag and poly with tread are available for different size castors.

Customisation
* The wheelchair can be customised in seat width and depth, and in the type of trunk supports, chest and pelvic positioning straps.

Colours
* There are 17 powder coated colours, and 7 high reflective starlight colours available.

Brakes
* A drum braking system is standard.
* The brakes are available as push to lock or pull to lock and operated by a lever on the push handle.
* Foot brakes are also optional.
* Wheel lock handle extensions are optional.

Accessories
* Pelvic positioning belts, chest straps and trunk supports are available in a range of different styles.
* Transport tie downs are standard.

Considerations

Wheelchair Restraints
When transporting a person in a wheelchair in a car or van, both the occupant and the wheelchair require a Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) approved restraint system. The wheelchair and the occupant need to be separately secured to the vehicle itself.
RMS approval is not required for a postural support, such as a harness that supports the user in the wheelchair but is not part of the vehicle restraint system.
The use of a headrest is not legally required but strongly recommended. Easily detachable, folding headrests which fit a wheelchair with standard push handles are available. Refer to section Wheelchair, Scooter, Cushions, ramps / Postural Supports - Seating System: Restraint+Head+Back+Seats
