Course Description

I enjoyed the practical parts of the training. We experienced what it was like to be in a wheelchair/chair hoist so know what it will feel like for the client.

-Course Participant

The course content was very clear and easy to follow with good practical demonstrations...

-Course Participant

This course covers how to efficiently and safely transport a client - with and without the use of assistive technology. Participants gain an understanding of current WH&S legislation related to manual handling and injury prevention.

This course can be conducted at the work-site or in our training room. It is designed primarily for training small groups.

We can also customise training to suit the workplace and the needs of the participants.

All training is interactive and practical, creating an environment where people learn with, and from each other.

Topics covered include:

  • current manual handling issues
  • current legislation
  • identification of risk factors
  • risk control
  • communication, privacy, dignity and confidentiality
  • application of lifting aids
  • correct lifting technique
