Course Description

With so many different pressure-relieving products on the market, how do you know which one to choose and when to apply it? Discover the features and properties of the various products and find out how to apply them to clients at risk of developing pressure sores.

This full day includes an overview of pressure and:

  • identifying pressure sore risks
  • pressure sore management methods
  • cushion features and properties
  • clinical reasoning for cushion selection
  • introduction to pressure mapping

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • accurately identify pressure sore stages
  • determine clients at risk for developing pressure sore areas
  • gain an understanding of different pressure risk assessment scales
  • describe the basic characteristics of pressure relieving mediums
  • identify pressure cushion and mattress features and properties that need to be considered in the selection process
  • apply cushion and mattress knowledge to match client needs through case study

Cancellation & Refunds

When a cancellation or refund is unavoidable, you can:

  • Substitute a person in the course
  • Request a refund up to 7 days prior to the course (less 10% admin fee)
  • Request a transfer to another course

Assistive Technology Australia reserves the right to cancel a course when there are unforeseen circumstances. Notification of cancellation will be given by phone. If we cannot place the applicant in another course, we will refund the full amount.

AT Australia is accessible for people with a disability. Additional learning support during training and assessment can be arranged with prior notice.
