Bathrooms and kitchens require special attention in the planning
phase, as once they are built, they are expensive to alter or modify.
This Guide gives basic advice on planning bathrooms and kitchens for people with
specific needs, including ageing, wheelchair users, people with vision impairment and
children.
The 2022 edition presents an update reviewing circulation and access requirements,
taking into consideration of updated standards and broader accessibility perspectives.
The new Guide also provides a general overview of innovative
assistive technology available for home modifications and retrofits.
First edition published in 2007. The second edition was revised
and published in 2016 and again in 2017.

This publication is intended as a reference for people in the early stages of memory loss as well as their family / friends. It contains information on products and devices as well as tips and hints for managing the effects of memory loss.

The ILC NSW publishes the journal “Independent Living” on behalf of the Independent Living Centres of Australia
Published quarterly since 1984, this unique publication focuses on commercially available equipment to aid daily living activities. It is aimed at the professional community, particularly those who prescribe or source equipment for others.
Independent Living contains feature articles about equipment and design. The journal also contains information on new products, resources, and organisations. Independent Living is an ideal resource for anyone in the health professional community responsible for prescribing or sourcing Assistive Technology for others.
Independent Living is registered with EBSCO, and as such the content of the journal is academically searchable on the major international allied health and rehabilitation search engines.

Living", AT Australia Board and Management decided to suspend the journal in its current
form and delivery
for the time being. We'll be investigating ways of creating a modern new improved
